Uruguay Pavilion holds to celebrate Uruguay’s National Day
July 12th, 2012 – – Uruguay, which is currently participating at the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, holds until 21th at MVL Hotel located inside of the Expo.
The event is a part of the program for the Uruguay’s National Day on July 18th and organized to offer an opportunity to enjoy authentic Uruguayan culture.
To taste the Uruguayan wine, customers should order a special menu at any of the two restaurants at MVL´s Hotel: Adria´s Restaurant located at the 1st floor or have a dinner at the Sky Lounge, “Mare e Cielo”, on the 26th floor. To them, a glass of Tannat, the symbolic Uruguayan wine known for its soft foam and tannin, will be served.
Uruguay Pavilion’s Commissioner said, “To celebrate the Uruguay’s national day, the Uruguay Pavilion prepared various activities including performances and wine tastings. Please visit the Expo on the Uruguay’s national day and enjoy the culture from the furthest nation from Korea.”
Additional, although it is not well known in Korea, Uruguay is one of the important wineries in Latin America and produces various wines such as Tannat, Viognier, Sauvignon Blac and Petit Manseng.
13일, 여수 – 여수엑스포에 참여하고 있는 우루과이관은 오는 21일까지 여수 엑스포 내에 위치한 MVL 호텔에서 ‘우루과이 와인 시음 행사’ 를실시한다.
이번 행사는 오는 18일 우루과이 국가의 날을 맞아 다양한 우루과이의 문화를 소개하기 위한 프로그램의 일환으로, MVL 호텔 내 1층에 위치한 아드리아(Adria) 레스토랑과 26층 스카이라운지에 위치한 마레첼로(Mare e Cielo)에서 식사를 하는 성인들을 대상으로 진행된다.
우루과이 와인을 맛보고 싶은 고객은 아드리아 레스토랑에서 특정 메뉴를 주문하거나 마레첼로 레스토랑에서 저녁 식사 시에 요청하면 무료로 시음해 볼 수 있다.
와인은 풍부한 거품과 타닌이 특징인 우루과이 대표 와인 따낫이 제공될 예정이다.
우루과이관의 관계자는 “이번 엑스포의 우루과이 날을 맞아 우루과이관은 공연, 와인 시음행사 등 다양한 볼거리와 즐길거리를 준비했다. 우루과이 날에 꼭 엑스포를 방문하여 한국에서 가장 먼 곳에서 위치한 우루과이의 문화를 직접 보고, 맛보고 느낄 수 있도록 바란다”고 전했다.
우루과이는 한국에는 잘 알려져 있지 않지만 남미의 와인 산지 중 하나로 이번에 제공되는 따낫 외에도 비오니에(Viognier), 쇼비뇽 블랑(Sauvignon Blanc), 쁘띠 망상(Petit Manseng) 등 다양한 품종의 와인들을 생산하고 있다.
